Unit Objectives
Prior Knowledge:
  • Find nth terms of linear and geometric sequences
  • Expand pairs of brackets
 By the end of this unit students should be able to:
  • Use sigma notation. [1.1]
  • Solve problems involving arithmetic sequences and series. [1.1]
  • Solve problems involving geometric sequences and series. [1.1]
  • Understand and use iterative formulae. [1.1]
  • Solve problems of binomial expansion. [1.3]
  • Solve problems of counting principles including combinations and permutations. [1.3]
  • Prove by induction. [1.4]
