Unit 19 - Graphs

Unit Objectives
Prior Knowledge:
  • Generate coordinate pairs and plot graphs of linear and non-linear functions
  • Use a GDC to sketch graphs
Core IGCSE learning objectives. Students should be able to:
  • Understand the modulus operation (Video 12.01)
  • Understand the concept of asymptotes and recognize horizontal and vertical asymptotes on graphs
Extended IGCSE learning objectives. Students should be able to:
  • Recognise the following types of function from the shape of their graphs
·        Linear (Video 12.02)
·        Quadratic (Video 12.02)    
·        Cubic (Video 12.02)   
·        Reciprocal (Video 12.02)
·        Exponential (Video 12.02)
·        Absolute value (Video 12.03)
·        Trigonometric      
  • Determine at most two of a, b, c, or  d in simple cases of the above functions (Quadratics - Video 12.05)
