Unit Objectives
Prior Knowledge:
  • Right angled Trigonometry
  • Sine and Cosine rules and area of triangle formula
By the end of this unit students should be able to:
  • Understand and use radian measure
  • Solve problems of arcs and sectors
  • Solve triangles including ambiguous cases
  • Use the six trigonometric functions
  • Know the exact values of sin, cos and tan of 0, π/6,  π/4,  π/3,  π/2 etc
  • Use given trigonometric identities
  • Use compound and double angle identities
  • Solve trigonometric equations
  • Transform trigonometric graphs
  • Use inverse functions arcsin, arccos and arctan, their domains, ranges and graphs
